Single player vehicles not spawning

Recommended Posts

Hey, all. I started playing DayZ in single player because I was sick of lag and bandits taking out my noob ass, so I searched about how to play DayZ in single player mode. I had to install a .pbo (not sure if correct extension?) file into my Arma 2: combined ops folder, then I hit single player in menus and scenarios/dayz. Everything works fine, except I've been to about 20 known vehicle spawn locations and haven't found a single vehicle that I can enter or interact with at all. I can't be having this bad of luck, right? Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Vehicles do not "spawn" there are placed on the database side. Since your single player mission is not connected to a database there are no vehicles present.

Damn.

Well, good to know. Any way to fix this? Can i start my own server and make the player limit 1? That sucks if I have to start over. Again. :(

Go into the editor and create your own mission. You have to be approved to run a DayZ server and there are very strict rules to run one, so no 1 player servers.

Well, shit. DayZ needs to have a single player option IMO. These bandits are ridiculous and people that play alone are at a huge disadvantage.

That's what the editor is for. It's very nice and you can share them with anybody. There is also a 3d one built in. At the main menu hold in the ALT button then press E to get to it. It's kind of a bit complicated to get it going and saved to play your mission, but once past that it's a blast to create with.

Here is a tutorial that explains it:
