Crash to desktop issue.

Hello everyone, need some help. Few days ago I finally launched this masterpiece called DayZ.

But I've got a problem. I can play fine without any problems for about 10-40 minutes, and then game just crashes to desktop, and what is strange-I still can move, shoot, I hear everything, however I can see anything except my desktop and game cursor.

I've tried to reinstall this game, still no results.

Well if you can still play when it 'crashes' then wouldn't windowed mode still show it?

This helped me, so yeah I can play a bit more. But later it happened again so all I got was a black windowed screen, and still I could move, shoot, hear everything. So my issue is still unsolved.

I'm in the same boat. I just posted a topic about this:

After about 15 minutes of playtime my screen starts flickering, my ingame character drops to the ground (wtf?), and then the game crashes: 'Arma 2 has stopped working and had to close'. If I then restart Arma 2 it is bugged as hell, graphic artifacts everwhere. Even google chrome is then bugged, with pieces of graphic drawn in the wrong place etc. I then restart my comp, search for a server again, join, and after 15 minutes the same thing happens. Does anyone else experience this?

My specs: Ati HD6950 AMD 955 BE 8GB

I installed in this order Arma 2, Arma 2 OA (from Amazon), then Arma 1.60 patch, then I use the DayZUpdater to install Dayz

Well, I've found solution.

- alt tab to go back to desktop ;

- go back to OA and type the cheat code to empty the video memory : left shift simultaneously with numpad minus, then type FLUSH.

But still, its not comfortable to play like this.
