My journey today + a question/complaint :D

So today i journeyed as far north as i could in the time i had :D

On the way i passed through some pretty cool ruins (screenshot) and eventually i was walking over mountains with a thunderstorm overhead,

My question/complaint is to do with filling canteens, i have empty canteens i walk into resivior and it doesn't let me fill canteens, is this just me or is it a bug or intentional?

next time i play i will be heading east to hopefully reach the coast and then find a map :D

Refilling canteens can be extremely tricky, usually if you go to the sea its simply a matter of getting in ABOVE waist deep. But for some reason, inland bodies of water 90% of the time force me to swim before i can refill my canteen.
