Getting Going

Hey all,

I just started playing the game 5 minutes and the only significant thing ive done is take painkillers after jumping from a roof. So, at first i was shocked because i didnt have even the lowly makarov pistol, what am I supposed to do if i get attacked?

Also, any general tips for starting out?
