Mister Christopher 0 Posted July 18, 2012 I dont usually play computer games (console gamer) and i dont know how steam works or anything. Is there a friends system or a favorites system that can be used to communicate and/or find servers these friends are using?
schwifty 22 Posted July 18, 2012 Steam does have a friends and community system that you can add people too and if they use steam to launch their game it will tell you when and what they are playing. If they use a launcher program such as six updater though, steam wont know they are playing and if you message them through steam they will have to alt+tab out rather than just bring up the steam overlay you can use while launching from steam.Six updater version 2 is being created, I havent read the features or anything on it but I'm hoping it does have the ability to track what server friends are in.Also a good thing to do to co-ordinate while playing or anything is get a ventrilo or teamspeak server. You can usually run TS right off your computer, I'm not sure how much bandwidth it takes up while using your own computer as the server though.
