lnfighter 20 Posted July 18, 2012 I'm just hunting in cherno/electro lately and having a blast.I've basically been hunting bandits or just anyone who's killing newbies and being a jerk.Yesterday I killed 5 guys in the clock tower in cherno and helped some newbies get their gear after the tower campers killed them. What are some tips for city fighting? I prefer cities because it's more fun with the landscape and cover available. It's also more close up fighting while any "fighting" in the outside cities is really just who can snipe who first. I'm not into sniping personally. I prefer the up close action. So what I've been doing is finding a secure place in the city and dropping my bag there and make that area my "home base" I go to for supplies and such. Have to be careful though as I've come back and my bag was gone either from server glitch or possibly another player. The reason I go with no bag is it makes me stand out much less and I think a lot of players assume I'm another zombie, unless I'm full sprinting. Also when prone, I don't stand out at all since people just scan for a big backpack.Any other tips/tricks for city warfare, let me know!
KrystoferRobin 67 Posted July 18, 2012 (edited) I would have suggested ditching your backpack to reduce your profile, but you've got that covered already.keep your head downdon't kill the zeds around youdon't fire unless you're certain to land the killmove oftenAll pretty common sense. A little tip I picked up from a youtuber, the pub has a nice LoS down the 3 hallways of the office building. Use that to your advantage.I like to drop flares and chemlights a street or two over from my location, but I prefer night time action, if you're a daylighter that won't do any good. Anything you can do to make something ELSE be a focus of attention is a good thing. Make campfires in the park, toss flares over buildings, that sort of thing. I don't bother with high end gear, a lee enfield and a revolver work perfectly fine, and are easily replaced. Edited July 18, 2012 by KrystoferRobin
G0V3RNM3NT4L 132 Posted July 18, 2012 This is going to get flamed. You put this at the survivor HQ, moron. My tips are to not help noobs, three hours from now they're going to be the antagonistic bully killing all the noobs.

lnfighter 20 Posted July 18, 2012 one of us has a reading problem cause on my screen it says i'm in the bandit campfire forums, not survivor HQ.And thanks for the tips! I dont bother with high end gear either. I put all my good gear in a tent I have about 1KM away from each city. I just carry AKM, Revolver, morphine, cooked food, painkiller, smoke grenades. I'll pick up wiring and sandbags too when I find them and put them random key locations. I used to be hardcore anti-pvp in this game, but after a while, there's just nothing else to do. I prefer to spend time fixing up vehicles, but they are so damn buggy. They either randomly blow up or disappear from server bugs. I just got sick of spending hours fixing up vehicles only to lose them. Only vehicle I'll use now is bicycle heh. Which is actually perfect for pvp :)
G0V3RNM3NT4L 132 Posted July 18, 2012 Yeah, I use the bike or (rarely) the motorcycle. The bike is easy enough to hide by a tent and you don't have to worry about cities (at all) since you don't need gas. It's also vewy, vewy, vewy quiet.
G0V3RNM3NT4L 132 Posted July 18, 2012 Oh, and another tip. Don't stay in the city. Stay in the surrounding countryside. Find somebody going INTO the city, and stalk them then. Don't run blindedly around.
Sergeant Squatt 58 Posted July 18, 2012 Yah Bikes are easier to upkeep and are quieter and stealthier and go fast enough
Mooseocalypse 59 Posted July 18, 2012 From outside the city, observe for at least 5 minutes from high ground. Get a feel for the city. Do you hear gun fire? Is it a shooting gallery down there, or is it quiet? Is it TOO quiet? Any zeds in sight? If so, are they milling around or running?Check all the obvious sniper towers and hills. Avoid zeds. If you have to shoot one, leave the immediate area. Anyone with murderous intent who heard you is now headed in your direction. Be safe.
lnfighter 20 Posted July 19, 2012 I'm not into sniping, so I dont understand why I would go OUTSIDE the cities as that's just asking to be sniped. And while in the city, I usually just prone crawl around and wait until I hear shots in high places. And do you guys ever intentually shoot up some zeds to attract people to you? Kind of setting a trap for bandits to come to you. I might try doing this. Shoot a bunch, throw some flares/smoke nades then run to another spot and wait for people to show.
