Save character?

Thanks to the recent update and my tries to get it going(couldn't connect to my regular server) has resulted in a f***ed up installation. It seems as if the only option is to delete it all and do a complete reinstall. The question is - do I need to copy certain files or do something specific in order to save my character with items and everything(so I could continue where I left off after the reinstall)?

just use six updater to update and install your mods. Just pick a dayz server and click use as dynamic server .... CLick run....DOne
