Dayz not running well! Help!

Hello everyone. I started playing DayZ yesterday and i have been experiencing some serious issues while playing it. After about 30 minutes, the game becomes unplayable due to the lag. After doing some research, i have found that this lag is because my computer is "throttling". It is pretty much when my computer works harder than it has to just to get more power. I have tried a few things to fix this, but none of them seem to work. This game is so much fun, but my computer is ruining the experience. My computer model is a Dell Studio XPS 1640. If you have any suggestions, please don't hesitate to post them. Thanks!
