Hello & Questions on Dynamic Music & Character Not Sprinting

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have been playing Day Z for the past few weeks and have been reading through the forum threads whenever I have had issues with the game or needed any advice. Anyway I love the game and think I might be addicted, but now that I've signed on here I just wanted to say hi to everyone here and ask a couple of quick questions I haven't been able to figure out.

Firstly, I was just wondering if anyone knew if the music within DayZ was dynamic based on your characters actions / proximity to zombies etc?

I don't think it is, as I have had the ambient music start while I was out in the woods not doing anything I was aware of to trigger it. However when I have been in towns etc, the clanging metal type of music always seems to kick in when the zombies are around and just wondered if it was due to that?

Also another thing has happened a few times which someone might be able to help with. On the odd occasion, my character will seem to get stuck in the slow walk (double shift) mode and pressing double shift a second time does not bring them out of it regardless of which stance I change to, although the character can still sprint (pressing 'W' twice) and switch between the various stances. After a while (anytime between 5 and 20 mins so far) the character starts running again.

I just wondered if this was a feature of the game such as fatigue or maybe an issue with the game or my connection etc?

Thanks and hello to everyone again.

Alex

Click the right mouse button once, quickly.

You're welcome.

P.S. Music is music. Listening for zombie noises and footsteps is more important.

I turn the music off so that I can be at one with mother nature. It helps you hear gunfire in the distance and footsteps/eating/drinking of others peeps too.

Thanks for your help guys.

Didn't even realize you could switch the music off. I have now done the same now and find its a lot more immersive.

It's worth taking a look through the Arma menu. Check some of your key bindings and also I turn down/off Head-bob. It makes it less nausiating when you run in First person view.

loads of people don't realise you can hold "left-Alt" to move your head freely. It's really usefull for looking around when your on the move. You can scan the horizon and tree lines whilst your jogging in one direction.

Finally, most of the commands (run/lean left-right/open mic) can be double tapped to reverse or hold the effect.

Hope this helps.
