Randomly spawning on the coast with no gear?

I was hanging out near novy sobor yesterday, logged out, logged back in today, and I was sitting on the coast by cherno with no gear like a fresh player. Why does this keep happening to me?

Might be a hive error on the server you're playing on if you're sticking to just the one. Not sure otherwise.

I've been having this happen to me a lot, but I've fixed it every time by clicking respawn on the new character then relogging. I always end up with my old character back after 1-2 attempts.
