I'm not looking for any tips on hacking DayZ, Never hacked and i doubt i'd be able to even if someone actually showed me.

But

I was wondering how do people actually hack games? Not just DayZ but games in general. I've heard that its just script that they have placed inside the game to make things appear. But how do they actually get inside the game?

Kinda depends on the game, but in the case of ARMA 2 it's a hexediter to use to adjust the files of the game that are currently loaded in the computers RAM. That's the short explenation. ;P
