The adventures of Keylime314 (Day 1 and technically 2)

Just to clarify I bought this game yesterday (7/17). Going to type this in a bit of flavored text mostly to amuse myself. I may update it just for fun. This post contains my first 2 lives. If you're looking for a quick read, look elsewhere.

Life 1

My eyes open to a bright coastal area. The spawn kicks in "ELEKTRO". Cautiously I look around to see 3 figures staring at me. Shambling, twitchy and feral I recognize them as Zeds. Immediately they shriek and bolt towards me.

"Fight or flight?"

I look to equip a pistol then realise, since patched you no longer start with weapons. Flight it is! I book it, full sprint with the mangled horrors behind me. On the horizon, a dock! Tunnel visioned I bolt to the dock as fast as my feet can take me. Perched upon it, I stare as the zombies enter the water, unable to get me. I wait...wait for someone who was also new to this land. A figure appears on the horizon, nothing more than a makarov and hatchet. I designate, "FRIEND OR FOE!?" realising even if it was a foe, I have no means to defend myself, but luckily he was the one I was waiting for.

Not knowing any better, I suggest we go to the city, as it's the closest area. He, knowing full well what that city poses, agrees. We run in, abandoning all caution for speed. Running without a clue I follow him, hoping he'll lead us to a building to escape. We make it...an abandoned industrial area.

The sound of flies permeates the area. Three corpses...three survivors who failed. We check their bodies, nothing of importance, cans of soda and random ammo. No guns...damn. As he checks the bodies for sign of death I continue investigating. In the corner, something perched in the corner.

I slowly crouch towards it then my eyes gleam. AKM! A brand new AKM waiting for me with four magazines. I chuckle and he asks what i'm laughing about.

"Simple, look towards me"

He laughs as he turns around "Damn newbie luck". I continue to investigate the building, seeing a staircase. We decide to take separate floors. I take the second and notice some supplies. Bandages...meh. Painkillers? I don't have a use for them. Glock 17?! I snatch it up quickly along with the 4 clips. We finish the building and reconvene.

"Any luck?"

"Found a Glock 17"

"F*cking newbie luck man, all I found was ammo for my lee einfeild"

We move out, too paranoid to stay in one area. Cautiously, but quickly we make our way through the streets. A line of bodies ahead of us. Throwing cautious to the wind we become entranced by loot. He searched some and I search one. Alice backpack-score. Quickly, and quietly we loot and decide to leave town.

Running through the street I see a convenience store with open doors.

"Let's loot this building and we'll get out."

I turn the corner and in the back of the shop, Assault rifle pointed at my face, a bandit.

Four rounds crack through the silence. I feel them tear through me as the world fades to black.

Life 1 Day 1 Keylime314 Gear

Status: Dead

Life 2

I spawn back in the same place. He laughs at my misfortune, but he was also shot. Luckily for him the bandit ran away. I tell him to pick up my stuff and take off to the hill behind the power plant, he does so. I find a nearby hatchet and swear vengeance. I run full speed back into elektro, bolting towards the convenience store. I turn the corner brandishing an axe to see...nothing.

"Damn"

I take the time to loot what's left of my corpse along with the three others. I find a compass, map, matches, and watch. No weapons. I run back to our designated meeting spot and he laughs holding my AKM and pistol. Offering to give it back I decline, I lost the weapons fair and square.

We use the map to find a near source of water, heading towards the damn. My pistol brandished with his AKM, we dispatch zombies acrossed our path. After a few minutes we make it. I scope out the area and see an open door. We run towards it without worry, after all who would be out here?

We get to the building and nothing is inside, but we hear the cry "FRIEND OR FOE?!"

"FRIEND FRIEND FRIEND" I shout back.

A visage appears from the woods holding some odd rifle. He asks where we came from and what our plans were. I let him know by typing we came from elektro and plan on hunting game to regain health. Intrigued by my shapely female body he starts giving winks and smiles. I laugh to my real companion through skype. "This dude thinks I'm a girl"

"Tell him you're not, simple."

"I will neither confirm nor deny it because people let their guard down around women."

Without flirting back, baiting, or asking he drops items for me calling me "baby, girl and cutie".

What weapon has he given me?

BAF AS50

My companion and I laugh but believe he's generally a good guy. We travel together a while, looting small towns, hunting game and regaining blood. Eventually he decides he needs to go.

My companion and I head back to Elektro, more cautiously. I lie prone on the hills overlooking the city, scoping any and all movement. Nothing. We make our way into town and head towards the hospital as we're low on medical supplies. Upon entering one thing is certain, there's been a hell of a fight here. The sound of buzzing is overwhelming, almost muting all other noise. Slowly we make our way through, crouching and walking slow. Body after body being passed by. Then I notice it, blood from the ceiling. I yell out to my travelling companion "UPSTAIRS, BLOOD". We run as fast as we can, hoping to catch the bandit off guard.

Up 1 staircase, still blood from the roof. Up 2, same thing. So we make a beeline for the roof itself. cautiously we round the corner to find...a dead body, still bleeding. We loot it then sweep the area, no enemies present. We make our way around, looting all the corpses of fallen survivors picking up Czech backpacks each and a myriad of supplies.

Too much risk now, we can't die. So we decide to make it to the same place we met up last time, but I must tempt fate. Sniper Rifle pointed at the door I rush to the convenience store. Noone there...well at least no one alive. I loot the bodies, nothing of importance but there I see it, a tent. I snatch it up and retreat to our safe place. From there, he leaves...and I wait, peering over the city that's not only claimed my life, but provided it for me as well.

"Till next time elektro..."

I disappear from sight, leaving it as a designated hotspot. One I both adore and despise.

Notes:

-Keylime314 is a man in a woman's pixelated body. If I'm staring at a pixelated *ss for hours, I'm making it one I'll enjoy.

-Keylime314 is a survivor that enjoys teaming up, regardless of how many bandits would take advantage of this. Send me a steam or skype request, chances are I don't mind teaming up.

-Keylime314 is chaotic neutral. He still hasn't chosen whether to be a survivor or bandit, but won't backstab someone he's made a promise or offer of help to.

-Looking for a group with purpose, whether bandit or survivor.

Day 2 Life 2

I awaken after my rest and look around, nothing seems to be nearby thank goodness. I scope in over elektro and see a bandit chasing down a survivor, gunning at him.

"Not today"

My AS50 fires out, cracking through the surrounding countryside. The bandit drops limp in the street. A smile cracks over my face, I did a good thing, even if someone had to die the end justifies the means. I unscope and prepare to move out, till I hear something familiar, a chopper. I prone quickly and look to the skies, it's directly over me.

"Well fu--"

Gunfire erupts and everything goes black.

Day 2 Life 3

I awaken to the coastline of cherno. Anger subsides and I sigh.

"Well it's only my 2nd life I did well enough."

I look to the city and make me way to the edge. Shambling mounds of flesh patrol the edge. I wait patiently for my chance....and then it comes! I get up and sprint through the now empty streets, running to the firehouse.

I open the door and turn the corner, gun pointed at my face. BOOM everything goes black.

Day 2 Life 4

I awake on the outskirts of Elektro again.

BOOM

The world goes black.

Day 2 Life 5

I spawn on another outskirt of elektro. I run in, abandoning caution for speed. Zombies parade behind me so I duck into a bar, weaving through doorways to lose them. Passing through, noticing blood dripping from the ceiling, I call out once more

"Friend or Foe?!"

I slowly make my way up the stairs, zombies no longer trailing behind me. The steps on the stairs echo through the building. No response... I continue slowly peering over walls and corners. No flies so I know he's alive... I turn the corner entering the bedroom.

Upon entering I see him, a lone survivor unconscious and bleeding out. I run up to him and use my only bandage to pick him up.

"You ok? I got you just hold on"

Bandaged up he slowly gets up. We stare at each other a moment, a moment before he plunges his axe into my face.

Day 2 Life 6

Back to the outskirts of Cherno I sit on the beach. I made contact with another survivor who's been through similar experiences. We talk as he makes his way towards me. In his previous life it would seem he was a teacher, at least before this hellish scenario started. Once he arrives we start heading into Cherno.

"You search the bars, I'll get the fire station and church"

"Alright be careful and call out if you need help"

We split up, due to skype still able to communicate. I enter the first bar cautiously.

"Back to front...don't want to miss anything" I mumble to myself, giving a reassuring grasp on the situation".

I enter the back room and look through the bathroom. A makarov! Looks like it's going to be a good start. I loot a few cans of soda and beans before heading upstairs. I turn the right and look around. Another makarov?

"You got a weapon yet?" I ask

"Yeah found an m1911"

I bypass the makarov but collect its ammo. I move to the next room and facepalm. Another makarov appears, almost mockingly. I move passed it and head to the next bar.

"Be sure to check the top of city hall as well since you're near it"

"You can do that?!"

I honestly never tried and this thought blew my mind. I found the pipes and started to shimmy upwards. Looking around I notice a Czech pack! I run towards it and swipe it, flipping it up in place of my coyote scout pack. Up ontop of the clock tower, 2 more makarovs. My new friend and I share a combined laugh as all I've found have been makarovs.

We group up and start heading towards the hospital. Caution creeps up on me and I frantically start searching around. Noone here....

We hit up another bar and loot more makarov mags and a canteen. I move cautiously around to the staircase and then I hear it.

Click! Glug glug glug

"Was that you!?"

"No man, I didn't do anything"

I look down the staircase and see him! Instantly I scream out "Identify yourself! Friend or Foe!?" The figure bolts through the door tearing into the city.

"After him!" We sprint out into the city and look around. He's already gone...

"We gotta be cautious I saw a clan when I joined. For all we know he's part of it" I warn 'Teach. We continue onto the church, deciding the hospital is too dangerous now. Opening it's double doors, we cautiously scan the area. I notice a "dinner bell", as fellow survivors reference it, an Einfield and sprint to it. Picking up a few other odds and ends we leave.

Not a soul in sight, undead or otherwise.

"This is too dangerous 'teach, let's bail."

"Agreed we don't know what's going to happen with that survivor."

We sprint towards the firestation, trying to make our way to the industrial section of the city in order to make our way to the woods. 'Teach sprints ahead and I frantically look around as we continue running. That's when I notice it, the survivor, in the firehouse tower.

"SERPENTINE 'TEACH! GET DOWN"

A Dinner bell rings out across the city. The world fades to black.

"Oh you gotta be kidd-".

Day 2 Life 7

I spawn at Otmel. 'Teach spawns outside Elektro so we decide to meet up in the elektro church.

Coastal winds blowing through my hair, I head out to Elektro. We talk about our live before "DayZ" occured. What our professions used to be, interests, 'Teach is a good guy. We joke around then he goes silent.

"What's wrong 'Teach?"

"Just found a dead body with a working bus and an AKM!"

Joy overwhelms him and he starts laughing. It brings a smile to my face, in this wasteland of betrayers, backstabbers, dicks, bandits, killers, and let's face it, if it was an an available option: Rapists.

I sprint into town as he loots around the city we meet up at the hospital and joke around. I hold my pistol at him, "Give me the gun and noone gets hurt". He laughs and we make our way through the desolate streets of Elektro. We reach the bus and the first thing I notice had to be pointed out"

"Teach, you realize there's a mortal flaw in your plan to go galabanting around the island with this bus don't you?"

"What's that"

"It has no tires you idiot"

"...."

I joke around with him a little longer and we open the church doors. My reflexes kick in as I let loose four shots instantly with my makarov and dive around the corner of the church just as two more shots ring out.

"The f*ck are you shooting for?"

"There's someone in there!"

Teach brings his AKM to bare and keeps the survivor locked down. I reload my makarov and slowly make my way around the pews, baring down on him.

"You should creep up around him."

"The f*ck do you think I'm doing right now 'Teach?!"

I gather myself, taking a deep breath before I explode around the corner. Eight shots ring out, then the town once more grows eerily quiet.

We loot the body, picking up a new primary for 'Teach as he tosses me his AKM with 10 rounds. We loot around and then sit next to one another.

"Where should we go" asks 'Teach.

"I've heard there's good loot in Starry, wanna head there?"

"Sure I got a map so shouldn't be too hard"

-For sake of boredom I'm skipping the uneventful crap and going to the next part-

About 1000 meters from Novy Sobor we're still running though the woods. I notice a rabbit running around, though we have plenty of food I'm bored so I decide to chase it. A moment later Teach's voice rings out.

"DUDE A CAR!"

"Huh?"

"I found a car get over here"

"Don't go near it! It may be a trap"

I run over to him and hit the dirt.

"You prone right I'll prone left, keep an eye out for ANYONE, shoot first ask questions later."

I break left and cautiously scan the area. Nothing...I wait another 2 minutes, nothing still. Teach gets impatient and makes a break for the car, to which nothing happens. We laugh a while and get in the car. I ask Teach if he wants do drive but he tosses me the keys.

I get in the car for the first time and back down the hill. A small village is there fill to the brim with zombies. I get on the road and blaze through the streets at 95 KM/H. We laugh hysterically as this is the first good news we've had in a while. What would have been another 10-20 minute run takes 2 minutes as I gun it through Novy. I stop the car and drive it into the treeline. We loot a few items including a grenade each.

"We have to be careful from now on. We're at Starry and it's insanely dangerous"

I move forward into the bushline and look around. Nothing in sight of the binocs.

"Stay here 'Teach I'll scout ahead"

I run forward into the open plains, full speed. Dodging back and forth, spinning, stopping and ducking I finally make it to the other end. Not a single gunshot, good news. putting my binocs to my eyes I start to speak,

"Teach stay where you are till-"

CRACK!

I look to my left and Teach is in the field, on the ground.

"Shit! They broke my legs!"

I draw my AKM and load in the 10 rounds. I look into the city and see nothing as Teach crawls and rolls into the treeline, sniper rounds following him. I peer to the right and notice two people running at us through the woods. I drop to my knee and fire off six rounds.

Crack crack crack!

Three bullets find their mark and blood erupts from the targets chest. Another enemy flanks me from the woods.

"Teach I have to do this...."

I prime the grenade stolen from the car and toss it under me.

Bullets rip through my torso, sending me plummeting to the ground in a heap of broken bones and blood. A moment later, BOOM, another enemy down.

The world fades to black as mixed emotions flood me. I lost my car...my gear, but I took 2 with me. Was it worth it...

-End of day 2-

sounds great! you have certainly had more luck than me lol! best i have found so far is an FN FAL from a crash site and an M4A3 CCO. lost them shortly after :( still going solo and trying not to kill where possible, only have 1 murder and that was self defence.

fun read. I just bought the game last night, so i'm still in newbie mode. how many hours would you say you've logged so far (still on my first life...only about an hour of playtime so far)

sounds great! you have certainly had more luck than me lol! best i have found so far is an FN FAL from a crash site and an M4A3 CCO. lost them shortly after :( still going solo and trying not to kill where possible, only have 1 murder and that was self defence.

I know the feeling about the murders but I'm almost to the point where I'd rather stay in the wilderness and kill anyone I meet there. As for luck, today I got luckier but I'll update the story later =P

Probably 16ish hours in 3 days
