zeu77455 5 Posted July 18, 2012 This topic is for a friend he bought dayz because he loves it but the problem he has is his computer is a little suckish. Hes playing on very low settings and still lags is there anything he can do ingame to lower setting except the graphics? Or does he need to buy a new graphics card or cpu. Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted July 18, 2012 Sounds like he needs a new card or CPU. He could try using Arma lite (the free version) with OA. It's got lower quality textures so might smooth it out for him.

aenima 4 Posted July 18, 2012 I think if you want serious suggestions, you need to post his system specs first. if he can't tell you, you can use a freeware software like SIW or EVEREST or anything similar, to get those information for you. just run it on his pc, and it should tell youmainboardcpugraphics cardramand you can tell us about the operation system he's using too . that would be a start.thing I remember from yesterday: my room mate wanted to play arma ii and it was all laggy with kind of the newest nvidia driver (he had no problems before) so he installed a newer (beta) version or something and it was ok again. so the driver used can be also responsible for lags, not to mention the server. try some low ping servers first, on some servers you'll have constant mini-lags regardless of your hardware. thedayzpro 0 Posted July 31, 2013 how would that work?you would need to go to a computer store and bring your pc. now you just buy the graphic card and ask the employee if he would do it if he could not bring it home and grab a screwdriver and open it up un hook the old graphic card and put in the new one and close it back up! hope this helped! :)
