Makarov is broken...

So, connect to the server, and I was below the stairs at one of the Elektro Power plants... There was a bandit camping the stairs above me, and my AKM ammo disappeared... So pull out my makarov and quickly fire 8 rounds directly into his head at point blank... After I shoot him down, he's still alive, and just puts a hole through my head.

De-sync maybe? That would be my best guess.

either he is a hacker or your shot never registered. i dont even think im going to update my dayz till tomorrow to many issues with it right now

Probably server lag, this happends, either when it's desync or when it's just general "lag"

I had the same thing happen to me on my last death. I knew a guy was nearby (at NWAF, in SW barracks) so I was going to try to have the element of surprise on him. I didn't loot anything, I just opened the 3rd door down, got in, and closed it behind me. I had a plan to shoot him when he opened the door.

All was going to plan... I heard him walking around, creeping, and being cautious. I had my M4A1 silenced ready for him. He opens the door, I shoot 15 rounds into him before he even knows what's going on. He finally snaps out of it and kills me in one bullet. Haven't played since. Not out of hatred for the game (I quite enjoy the game), it just demotivated me a bit.

It happens, its just lag, de-sync, etc.., so dumb when it happens but nothing we cam do about it, other than change servers.

This sounds like a case of desync, you say you logged into the server and were below the stairs at the elektro power plant ( that tells me you were at the northern fire station next to the power plant).

I am not sure if you regularly log off in high traffic, high loot yield areas but I would'nt suggest it in the future.

had the same issue. was sneaking around elektro, even used the quick tap w glitch where it makes no sound when you move, i admit lol. anyways i heard another guy and went into a corner in the room i was in, waited for him, heard him coming, saw his rifle move through the door and it turned straight to me. i emptied an entire magazine into his face and even had time to press reload, went into the reload animation when he finally opened fire and killed me. almost certain he was haking or the mak is really just crap.
