Admiral_Blunts 5 Posted July 18, 2012 (edited) IDK if this has been brought up or not, sorry new to the forums and to the game, bout 20 hours played. But after looking at the forums, I never see a zeds sense of smell brought up into question, also I see tons of bandit consequence QQ.So my idea in essence is that they add a smell icon into the equation of whether you get aggro'd. Smell could be affected by a variety of factors, how long you have been alive, how many player bodies you have killed and looted and whether you have been bleeding recently. The farther you progress whether it be from killing players or sneaking around, your smell should slowly increase, with larger increases from looting a players body. So in essence it adds a sliding difficulty scale for players who either a/ have been alive for a very long time and are very well geared up and ready for anything b/players who kill lots of players. It is not a consequence for being a bandit just a slight disadvantage for those who like to kill other players too much. And it adds difficulty for those who have what they think is an invincible character, outfiited to the teeth.Flame suit on for a possibly redundant suggestion. For an instance of Zombie folklore sense of smell: http://www.amctv.com/the-walking-dead/videos/the-walking-dead-talked-about-scene-the-smell-of-death Edited July 18, 2012 by Admiral_Blunts
mrwwa 2 Posted July 18, 2012 What exactly would you need a sense of smell for? Even if you did have the sense on the side, there wouldn't be anything TO smell in the world..Think of actually being outside; what's the only thing you can usually smell on a weekend: barbeque, grills.A human isn't capable of smelling small-scale things from a distance, which is exactly what Chernarus is; a large apocalyptic zone. The only thing a real human can smell, like I said is typically someone grilling, in which no one can possibly do.
