Requires addon?

Please help me, I just bought AO and installed it just for this awesome mod, but when I try to join a server through six launcher, it says "Addon 'dayz_anim' requires addon 'CA_Dubbing_Counterattack'"

What do I do?

O_O did you created the sub folder in Operation arrowhead

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\@DayZ\addons

and unzipped the files from this website to that folder?

(if you are not using steam.... not 100% sure what to do =P but willing to assist)

IF YOU HAVENT.... go go and do so lol that is why! ^_^

also... a way to save time trying to join servers is wait for the list to load. and pick a random one(with low ping).. then use the UP/DOWN arrows to move around the list... if there is a giant red X near the server name... YOU CANT PLAY ... (it is a different version)

ALSO once you install the addon files... go to your steam library, right click operation arrowhead, go to properties and

'Set Launch Options'

and paste: -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -mod=@Dayz (which means you probably will need to install the beta.... will repost with that info lol... OTHERWISE just put in the ' -mod=@Dayz ')

top left 'latest beta patch'

start the download of that, and while it completes go to wherever you have operation arrowhead installed and right click the arma2oa exe and rename it to.. say... 'arma2oa -BACKUP' (can be anything at all really, just has to be different than normal)

THEN actually start up the beta patch you just downloaded... run it, do what it says.

THEN paste the long link/post at the end of the previous patch.. ^^^

AND try running it! (also you have to run arma 2 as COMBINED OPERATIONS or it wont work)

aka right click Arrowhead in steam, select 'run combined operations' and GL! ALSO NOTE THAT IT IS ONE TOON PER CD KEY so... families beware!!!! lol (I actually bought 2 keys ... so i dont lose tents on main toons death lol)

EDIT: i... dont actually use the six launcher so ... not sure there... but the above info works for me (SADLY... the old posts that 100% work... were wiped from existence when they moved to these new forums lol)

when running your six updater did it stop at all or freeze that you had to restart the comp? if so you def need to do a fresh re-install of everything :\

No, no freeze, installed fine, reinstalled both games 3 times, and I keep coming to the same problems. On launch the game says i'm missing "Addon 'dayz_anim' requires addon 'CA_Dubbing_Counterattack'" And after i click ok, the game launches but before connecting says "no entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgVehicles/Citizen1.scope.'

Please, PLEASE, someone help me!!! I can re-download AO anymore, I'm already at 76/110 gigs for the month! And I bought just AO from steam, but owned a cd version of arma2. I spent money and my internet usuage to try and get this mod to work. Please for the love of God, someone help me...

Download six updater then click install it should be where the download link is for dayzmod

I have both, but I installed Arma 2 with the cd (which means it's not on steam) and bought AO through steam.

Stop bumping your own thread and use an existing guide (there are several), all you have to do is search for it.
