SkepticJerry 0 Posted May 20, 2012 I've played Arma 2 for quite a bit and I fully realize that there is no 'melee attack' in the game. It's not something that really is an issue in Arma games. However, I have noticed that zombies perform some sort of "melee attack". I'm curious, how is that achieved with zombies, obviously with some sort of "hack" to the system and why can't this be applied to players? The ability to fight one or two zombies, when out of ammo and/or trying not to alert a horde, would be extremely useful. Of course, the risk of serious injury in attempting such a thing would make the use of this ability in dire circumstances only. Any ideas about this?
RPlasticPirate (RP) 4 Posted May 21, 2012 there is another thread about melee attacks... I'm poking the devs about it on my intern wish for feature list... Currently most actual features like this are in the back of the queue to the massive amounts of new players and servers that needs to be handled etc... Frito Pendejo ☠ 4 Posted May 21, 2012 as far as i remember zeds attacks act like a really low range weapon, thats why they can get you behind a wall if you are too close or hit you a few meters away from you
SkepticJerry 0 Posted May 21, 2012 So basically, we need a "machete gun" that has a range of say 1 m and takes up a weapon slot? You'd have to keep it somewhere, replacing primary weapon perhaps?
SkepticJerry 0 Posted May 23, 2012 How would you animate it? I'm assuming you could give it infinite ammo, or perhaps tie it to how tired/scared you are?
