Using a controller

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I have no idea about how to configure Arma 2 to use a controller, but honestly, just considering the number of keyboard keys it essentially requires and how akward the gear menu is even when using the keyboard + mouse... I would really recommend first just trying the keyboard+mouse controls.

After that seriously considering if its seems viable to even try to map those to a gamepad or such. If it still seems like a good idea, then look into xpadder (or some other keyboard+mouse emulation software) as already suggested.

I just plugged my controller in and mapped them manually in-game. Took me a while to do it but it was worth the effort in the end :)

note - I just experimented with what I map where until I found something that worked for me :)

Easy http://pinnaclegamep...hp?20886-ArmA-2

You can map a whole keyboard to a 360 controller with this awesome program.

Even tons of awesome things you can't do with and average keyboard and mouse. Eg sniper assist, sticky keys etc..

Someones already made a great arma 2 profile that works decently with dayz.

You can also make minor changes like i did to make it perfect for dayz.

Yes a keyboard and mouse will always be best with things like this, but if your controller is your other hand or you

have a multimedia setup like me you cant beat this.

Oh okay, so opinions aren't valid anymore. GOTCHA.

Oh and apparently crossing out the word DICK is not saying it?

Mods and users alike need to grow the fuck up. Since when is giving the middle finger to someone NOT saying "FUCK YOU"?

And if a mod wants to warn anyone, how bout we warn the mod for taking this thread off topic?

The guy asked for help and advice. You launched a needless verbal assault on him and were rightly warned. End of, stop crying about it. Your endless tears will not take back the warning.

On a more OP related note. I have played around with the 360 pad that works as standard with the game. The inventory is a nightmare and must be done with the mouse. Kinda defies the point if you ask me. Also i ran out of buttons and had to sacrifice a few things. Keyboard and mouse is the way mate.

Arma 2 vanilla can be played with the pad with ease, but dayz's constant use of inventory and compass and such things limits it massively.

Not that common sense will work.
