Issues with crawling and default SHIFT-key function

Hello.

First of all, a shout out to Rocket for creating an amazing mod. I absolutely love it.

So to my problem:

You know how when you crawl, you can either crawl "fast" or crawl super slow making NO noise by holding shift, right? Well some times the slow-crawl function stops working. Yes, I do know about the double-tap shift mode change. This is something else. It is probably the combination of keys I press on my keyboard that causes this, as I've been able to fix it before, by pressing buttons randomly.

However, now the problem occured again, and I can't seem to fix it. I've tried double-clicking shift to change the crawl/run modes, I've tried various combinations of shift + right mouse key etc etc. None of which solves my issue. I've also tried restarting client + computer, with no luck.

This isn't a huge problem, other than a nuisance knowing it's not working properly. Allthough, the super-slow crawl is useful at certain points, when crawling very close to a zombie.

Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

It is a bug or random occurrence that I have seen before. If you play on a server with third-person view enabled, try toggling between that and first-person (or vice versa).

Press the right mouse button once, quickly.

I'm pretty sure that's a toggle version of the shift button - shift also doesn't override it.

I had the same problem and this fixed it, hope it helped.

In my experience, you can't slow crawl with a sidearm out. Equip a primary weapon (axe will do) and you'll be able to slow-crawl.

Please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Clicking my right mouse button once works some times. However, when this problem occurs, it doesn't help. So I don't know. This seems very strange. At the moment it's working, and it's been working for the past 8-10 hours of game play.

I'll try to be more aware what key combination I'm pressing next time my slow crawl messes up again.

Maybe next time it happens remap the key and see if that works? Unless disabled, maybe sticky-keys is a problem? It's a possibility worth checking out in my opinion.

Various things can be toggled which might mess it up, Q and E might affect it as well but I have not tested it.

I know the problem too, but to be honest, I never use the super slow crouching. Its useless in my opinion.The Problem is even if you are slow crouching Zombies will not hear but see you sometimes.

My solution, since this could be such an annoying problem was to bind the slow walk/crouch/prone button to "T" it is an unused button, as far as I know in the mod, and makes it much easier to go slow when you want to,

Good idea. I might try that too.
