Regaining blood from cooked meat isn't saved?

I'm not sure this is a bug so I'm asking if anyone else has noticed this.

Last night I was super close to death (around 2000 blood), was passing out every 2 minutes untill I found two goats. With the cooked meat I regained 5000 health and kept 1 meat as reserve, played for about an hour more before I logged off.

Today when I logged back in I was back at 2000 blood, had 1 cooked meat in my bag.
