doom4mr 135 Posted July 17, 2012 when you install beta patch, shortcut appears in the Arma 2 root folder called "Launch Arma2 OA Beta Patch"use it to run beta patched Arma
Disgraced 1123 Posted July 17, 2012 For the way that I run things, I then have to copy the 'new' arma2oa.exe from the beta folder into the 'regular' folder to fool steam into running it. If I don't, it just runs whatever I left in there last, which is usually the last beta patch....
simjedi 43 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Once you apply a Beta patch you can not downgrade to a lower version, you have to uninstall the game then reinstall it.If using Steam make sure you verify each game, meaning Arma2 and Arma2 AO after the install. Then run just Arma2 by itself load the Armory and test drive something then exit run ArmA2 AO and do the same thing again. After that is done apply the patch then install the DayZ mod.ETA: It's also a good idea to make backups of your games before applying the patch so you don't have to re-download all over again, just delete the local files and restore. catstyle (DayZ) 6 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Playing via steam and applying beta-patch dont always put it in the right path. This is what you should do.X:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\betaIn that folder (might be a different location on your computer) your beta-installer files will be put for some wierd reason. You need 2 things, a map and a .exe : )Should be a map named DLL and a file named arma2oa OR arma2oa.exe :D (same thing)Copy those 2, and paste them into your X:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowheadThat will fix it.If your unsure, make a backup copy of your current DLL file and exe before. This is something I have to do every new arma beta patch, to lazy to find the fix for it. and it works ^^ Edited July 17, 2012 by catstyle

zyfer.nyholm@gmail.com 131 Posted July 17, 2012 i got it working, i dont know whats up with this but its deffo a bug not many has, i think it might have been something ive done on my end, like my oa cant create 3d when i run it from the directory, and the six launcher basically wants to update my game now so im not using that, i launch the game via the arma 2 oa beta patch launcher thing, and that launches the patch correctly, so bye bye six launcher, i have no idea what has gone wrong but its deffinetly weird.i also verified the game cache via steam and there was 3 files that was reported for something i cant remember, i dont know if steam replaced those files so they work now, but it probably did. simjedi 43 Posted July 17, 2012 so bye bye six launcherI still don't understand why this site recommends the 666 updater because it's horrid. Glad you got it sorted out!

Glad you got it sorted out!thanks man and yeah totally, i dont get it either, that updater is wrecked for me, im just gonna keep using the beta launcher to launch the game lol, im afraid to press update, i dont wanna get an even bigger problem because tbh there are NO solutions to fix this issue if it occurs, i checked google and everything, its an error for itself lol.and thanks for all the suggestions guys Edited July 17, 2012 by Zyfer
