Insanity system

Recommended Posts

I don't know if this has allready been suggested, but i think an insanity system would be cool.

We all know that in war, some soldiers start going insane, and the only thing keeping their sh** together is their pals around them who are living the same thing. They can talk about it, or just distract themselves from it. Now i'm not going to go and do a psychology lesson, but lone soldiers do tend to go totally insane after a while killing and surviving alone: hallucinations, depression, PTSD, etc...

So a good way to encourage some teamplay (either between bandits, or survivors) is maybe to put some insanity in the world, to people who have killed loads of other humans, and who live alone all the time, then the insanity starts to wear off when you're around other people, or shooting zombies heads off, or chilling with others around a camp-fire.

I mean, war is traumatising, so imagine being in a zombie apocalypse.

now however that transpires in the game, i'm sure some people will have great ideas, being it flashs of disturbing images (like flashbacks a person has with PTSD of the event that traumatised him) or blurring of vision every so ofter, or shaking of aim because you're scared and insane or whatever.

What do you guys think?

this is kind of dumb and abstract, and wouldnt fit the rest of the game.

Players already kind of "go mad" with distrust. I've seen people turn from good guys to people who shoot any other human they see.

the insanity starts to wear off when you're shooting zombies heads off

because killing what are essentially humans with rabies is what helps every maniac to regain their sanity.
