Can I run DayZ in combination with other mods?

I'd like to use texture mods that reduce load, but don't sacrifice as much graphical quality as vanilla low textures, also maybe sound mods.

My question is, will DayZ detect that as cheating/altering game files and is it even pissible to run 2 mods at the same time?

Every server should have the required setup which will block all non approved addons. Todate nothing has been allowed in over the top of @DayZ, to suggest addons to be included in @Dayz would be more suitable.
