Jackftw 310 Posted July 17, 2012 Me and a buddy were heading to a helicopter crash site when we saw another survivor by a building, maybe 70 meters away from the crash. At this point, me and my buddy knew it was kill or be killed. So we opened fire. I missed with my FAL, but my buddy hit him in the chest with his M4A1. The target ran behind the building. It had been maybe 20 seconds and he hadn't returned fire yet. At this point we were thinking he combat logged, but then all of a sudden he peeks around the corner BANG BANG BANG BANG. He began returning fire on our position. This lead on to be a 10 minute firefight.Point of the thread, me and my buddy finally had a chance to play the game like it should be played. No alt-f4, no combat log.So to the mystery man on US 665, I salute you. Good fight :) (We ended up getting killed by some guy that we assume heard the firefight. He came up behind us with his AKM and killed us both haha. Not sure what happened to the guy we were shooting at)
Henyo10 23 Posted July 17, 2012 I don't know how some people can play the game by combat logging, it just ruins the whole point of the game.
Miragenz 71 Posted July 17, 2012 Well the other day after i died i ended up in Elektro, quite quickly found a M16A2 and some mags, some food and supplies from around town when i run into a survivor, his name was Ian, he was unarmed so i looked at him briefly to be sure he wasn't getting out a weapon, and then i left.Few minutes later i run into him again, this time he is with another guy named Ben, also unarmed so i let them be. 30 minutes later on the other side of Elektro i'm checking some buildings when suddenly i see a guy aiming at me, turns out its Ben again, i aim at him and he aims at me, i decide not to shoot him, and trust he wont shoot me since i left him alive earlier aswell.I walk backwards and he fires a few rounds from his revolver, i duck for cover and he runs into town.I climb onto a building for some overview but no sign of him, untill later he runs past, chased by zombies running west out of town.As i get ready to shoot him i see him collapsing due to a zombie, and seconds later he's dead.Serves him right, i go upto him and take the gear of him, i suppose he looted a corpse since he had quite a number of items on him, considering how he had nothing earlier.Long story short, karma's a bitch and doing good deeds doesnt pay off. GenTroy (DayZ) 22 Posted July 17, 2012 Me and a buddy were in a Mexican standoff with 3 guys outside a barn. We were on the inside. It lasted for about 20 minutes, they tried to get us out, it started with sweet talk, then threats, then grenades. Then it got real interesting when a group of SiCo clan guys showed up, and a firefight started outside the barn...me and my buddy used that time to try and escape...he made it out, I didn't...still an awesome time. To everyone involved last night in that shootout at the barn just south of NW airfield, on US 454. Had a great time, and thx for not combat logging.Troy
Izithel 23 Posted July 17, 2012 Sounds better then the one time I got attacked, returned fire, enemy guy logged and I got eaten by zombies while bleeding from the wounds I got from him.Wish I had epic gun fights like that.

Every other time I engage someone I either kill them in the first hit, or they combat log. It was definitely a fun experience.
