Guarding your bass with a mine

what if you could make a mine out of 2 grenades and 3 scrap metal. you could place them around your camp to protect yourself. they would have the explosive power of 1.5 grenades. to blow up you would have to be within 4 feet or so. they would also blow up if the player that placed them touched them. they could be shot aswell.

While it would be an interesting idea somewhere else, I think at this point mines like what you said would take from the game rather than add to it.

If they're too rare then people won't be too cautious and will be pissed when they blow up, aka frustration.

If they're relatively easy to come by then you'd need to crawl/crouchwalk everywhere, which would drop the rhythm of the game to something that I, personally, wouldn't play.

as cut throat as dayz is i think mines would just be heart breaking to see in game you can get raped molested and killed in more then enough ways then having people about being paranoid of randomly dieing opening a glitchy door to have a mine blow up in their face. A radio alarm yes but a mine no. have a trip wire alarm if you wana scare the shit out of people.

Cannot be used near tents or vehicles as they would just blow up (troll bandits will place them at tents and vehicles you own to kill you and destroy your stuff)

what if each player could only make like 3 or 4, and the mine would make a sound and allow like 5 sec. to disarm or run away from it.

but that wouldnt be very realistic would it :/

i really think trip alarms are the best middle ground for this like ecksdee and i said its really going to make people hate the game. it may be realistic and crafty but its really going to piss alot of people off even the hard core gamers.

yes but how would that help you if your not online? or if your away? (unless you linked the alarm to your chat or a radio) but an alarm would amazing for a sniper.

link it to a radio, a flare, a smoke gernade a bear horn but i think the gernade thing is kinda pushing the limits on what adds alot of immersion and what ruins players game experiance from a luck based skill less direction.

oh wait, do you mean the instrument? why on earth would anyone lug around a bass in an electricity-less apocalypse

i'd like booby traps with wire and grenades, and i'd like to place the trap on bodies, in doors and under weapons on the ground..and also in veichles..inspection on the object+toolbox to disarm them
