Having problems with Night

so the past week or so, maybe even longer then that.

Almost all servers i load into are at Night time..

and i have played (cause i had to) at night and gotten almost no where...

I know im looking for a low pop servers to play on (around 10ppl on server) cause i have had really bad experiences with servers that have more then that,

with people spawn camping the coast or cause it always freaking night.. a sniper in every small town with NVGs..

And playing at night is tough with just a flashlight.. cause you cant drop for a pistol cause its pitch black without it..

Like today.. i was having an Alright time.. then im walking through a small town and Bam i get shot from a guy with NVGs just cause he could and i couldnt see him

Now... i have had fun with a night server cause it was a full moon and really bright.. but other then that i have had a terrible time with night..

i wish there was a way to tell what time of day the server is without having to load into it..

like it would say (server name) Dusk.. night.. noon.. morning.. midnight. Something!!

any other Newish people had this problem with getting only night servers... and the Day servers having a MILLION FREAKING PEOPLE ON THEM or am i the only one =( #foreveralone

The island is huge - even with more than 40 people on it, the likelihood of finding one of them is low. I suggest trying a server in daylight again - but this time not making yourself a target. Prone is your friend.

If somehow you're always ending up in a server at night - even when it shouldn't be the case, then perhaps a reinstall is in order?

Either way, having a friend to partner up with is a sure way to get through tough situations easier. Two heads are better than one!

I really don't recommmd using a flashlight! It will attract all players nearby!

What I do when I'm forced to play at a night time server is, set the brightness and gamma in the menu as high as possible. You can only see white and black now but at least you can see something and don't have to use your flashlight.

Try DayZ Commander - It's a program like Six Launcher to start the game and it tells you the time of the server (you can filter day and night, too). Search the forums, the developer posted the link here.

brightness and gamma all the way up is the way to go. otherwise with that flashlight, you're just a moving target.

Brightness, Gamma and also turn HDR to Very high in your video settings.

Alternatively, look for servers in other parts of the world that are in daylight hours.

I'm UK based but my clan have a US east coast server, so roughly 5 hours behind, real time. If I'm online at 10pm the server time is around 5pm, so still in daylight.

Even with a 140+ ping I'm still getting playable fps, so no performance issues.
