blueeagle79@gmail.com 1 Posted July 17, 2012 Ever since the latest update, I've been hosed. OA keeps crashing right after finishing "loading." I get into the game lobby, receive the mission file, jump to the loading screen with the tanks, and then it jumps back to the view of the lobby. Only this time, all of the grass textures are just white blocks in the background, and then OA crashes out to the desktop. This is the second fresh install of OA that has been doing this to me. It takes me over 10 hours to re-install the game, and I've done it TWICE so far, and it has kept doing this same thing. I'm getting kind of fed up. I've also manually deleted the entire OA directory after a Steam uninstall, and THEN did a reinstall, only to have the same graphical issues. I update via SixUpdater after re-installing...is that the issue? Do I need to do that manually? Any help appreciated; I have a buddy coming over tomorrow evening to play DayZ, and as of right now, I still can't play. :( Cheers, Torval

Quaiden 0 Posted July 17, 2012 Figured out the issue.I uninstalled Battleye, reinstalled it, and joined a server. I was able to connect this time and no crash.

blueeagle79@gmail.com 1 Posted July 17, 2012 I'm not sure how BattleEye would screw up the textures, although it could easily cause the crash. As for the bad serial number, you can reset that fairly easily. Go into your Arma and your OA directory, and just delete the OA executable and the Arma II executable. Kill Steam, then restart it as an Administrator, and check the integrity of your game cache. It will detect the missing files, and re-download them, (they're tiny, it'll be fast.) Make SURE you are running Steam in Admin mode; click "Play" and it'll run through its little "first time run" setup that it does, which SHOULD fix your serial key issue. I'm currently waiting on a completely fresh download/install of both Arma II and OA so that I can try again. My other machine was able to update via Six Launcher and worked with zero issues; I've been fighting it on my main machine for days now. Padla, when you did the re-install, did you manually delete the files from the directories after your Steam uninstall? It leaves some files there when you uninstall, and they must be removed manually.
