Save resetting, how does it work?

So in the FAQ it says I can ask for a reset, to before I died, instakilled by a zombie warping through the tent wall. 12000 blood to -3000 in one punch. And yes I'm sure it was no bullet.

So how does the save timetravel work? Do they rewind to right before I died (if they do at all)? I did respawn and walk a bit then disconnected, slightly annoyed as I had M4A3 ACC and tons of mags, about 500 zombie kills. I think I had a good career.
