I have spent the better part of 13 hours installing and updating all my arma 2 stuff including arrow DL from steam, i have got the six launcher, but everytime i try to run dayz it says " bad serial number given" and wont play.... i am not computer savy, obviously.... i am also having trouble installing the battleye thing, i dont know if that is required and if so how the hell do you download it properly? i downloaded it on 4 seperate occasions and i got this ' bin /config.bin/Cfgingameui/mpt.table.shadow'. i would appreciate any help and please try to keep the computer lingo down to dummie status... thx all

this didnt fix a clan mates of mine but worth a try.

If you are launching through 6 or anything else run everything as administrator.

1. download arma 2+operation arrowhead from steam.

2.go to http://us2.dayz.nu/latest/ and download all the rar files.

3.create a folder named @dayz in Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead

4.create a folder named addons inside the @dayz folder.

5. extract all the files from step 2 into the addons folder. (14 files all together)

6.download http://dayzmod.com/b...Build_94876.zip and install it.

7. go to Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta

8. copy all the files and folders and paste them into Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead

9.right click on arma : operation arrowhead in steam client, go to properties, click on set launch options and add: -nosplash -mod=@dayz -world=empty

10. right click on arma operation arrowhead and click launch arma 2 combined operations.

when new updates come, repeat steps 2 and 5.

when installing arma 2 beta patch updates: get them from

http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php/

always delete the beta folder mentioned in step 7, then do step 8 and 10.

@ganjastar i already have all that stuff done did it through six, i need help with the stupid ass battleye it says it installs from steam but wont work, i think that is the only thing holding me back, i have not been able to launch arma2 arrow because of this i think...... is there any way to dowload battleye outside of steam?

i prefer doing stuff manually, can't help ya if you don't follow the steps that work for me.

not sure how you even know its a battleye error. if you mean that nothing happens when you click the batleye installer within the arma OA folder, thats normal, it means its already installed.

battleye is installed by default when you download the game from steam and run it., and when you install arma 2 beta patches its installed again.

cant find the battleye folder anywhere looked all over the oa files all i have is battleye.dll idk if thats it or not and it still wont run arrow even if that isnt to prob you figure for a game so awesome they would make this shit alot easier..... for computer dummies atleast.

my battle eye is in C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\BEsetup file is called Setup_BattlEyeARMA2OA.exe

if you want a battleye installer, download the beta patch from step 7. unzip it. then right click the file you get, and unzip it again. you should then have 3 files, 2 of which are battleye installers. run them and you should be all good.

if you double click it and nothing happens, then yes, its installed properly.

to run arma OA as admin, right click on ArmA2OA.exe, click properties, go to the compatibility tab. its near the bottom.

I doubt your problem is with battleeye though. you probably messed something else up.

if you still can't play i suggest you do a clean install following my steps. thats the best help i can offer.

okay, I think i missed a couple of instructions. you have the steam version of arma combined operations, which is arma 2+operation arrowhead?

right click on arma : operation arrowhead in steam client, go to properties, click on set launch options.

add this there: -nosplash -mod=@dayz -world=empty.

then to actually play the game you need to right click on arma operation arrowhead and click launch arma 2 combined operations.

ok some progress atleast i tried to just open arrow and this popped up, addon 'dayz_anim' requires addon 'CA_dubbing_counterattack'

well then, just unistall the game, and follow all the steps in my post. i updated it with the steps i forgot. However, before you go about installing dayz, try just running arma combined ops right after installation. it could be that your pc has an issue with the game all together. this will save you some time.

you could uninstall dayz files, clear the lauch options tab. if you have installed a beta patch over the main game folder (steps 7 and 8), then just verify cache integrity on operation arrownead: right click, properties, local files tab, verify cache. steam will then redownload the default game files, should be only a few megabytes.

then you should be on a clean install. the crucial word being should, cause i have no idea what you could have messed up in between. if that won't work you really will need a clean install.

one last question uninstalled all my dayz files, tried to run combined didnt work same black box...... arma 2 however works fine.... do i need to uninstall that too or just arrow?

arma 2 is fine since nothing dayz related ever goes into the arma 2 folder.

so just unistall operation arrowhead from steam, make sure to delete the whole folder from steam afterwards just to be safe. then redownload it. try running it without dayz, if it works, then go through the steps i posted. if you are still out of luck, send me a private msg and ill try to help you out.

right click on operation arrowhead and then click delete local content. after that go to the steamapps folder and delete operation arrowhead folder to be safe.
