blackaciddevil 0 Posted May 19, 2012 A thing that I really like is the right button zoom. It makes any journey so much more safe. You think you saw something ahead, zoom in, no it was just a rock. I like it because it makes you safe. But I think it has to go, that's my opinion (read above why). I don't want to feel safe and the use of binoculars becomes useless. Sure I can just disable the zoom in button but why would I when I CAN use it.Maybe it is a function that is impossible/hard to disable due to the Arma engine i don't know. That Lamer 0 Posted May 19, 2012 Holding right click is actually holding your breathe and focusing your vision. It's meant for marksmanship, and is meant to simulate hyper focusing on a specific point to make out better detail. Unfortunately this is a video game played on a ~1080p computer monitor, not real life in glorious ∞p resolution, so it is represented through a FOV change. But I hate and love the function. A change then maybe. Only useable when aiming with your weapon, but change the FOV change/zoom to 30% or something.
Virfortis 111 Posted May 19, 2012 Basically that, it's focusing on an object. When you focus, everything around you becomes blurry, and you can often get lost if you stare enough. This is simulated by the slight zoom.Of course, if you actually played the ArmA2 tutorials, you would know that, as it explains the zooming in detail. harryzhe 28 Posted May 20, 2012 Only useable when aiming with your weaponWhy?Also, you seem to underestimate just how deficient a computer monitor is, compared to actual vision.
qbert 4 Posted May 20, 2012 This sounds more like a game issue then a DayZ issue. To get rid of it you'd have to some kind of crazy stuff with the games engine or make a patch that locks the key bind or something.
