Dead zombie despawn time?

I did a google search and a forum search and came up with nothing. I logged in today and made my way to the nearest town but first I wanted to check a deer stand close by. On approach I noticed dead zombies laying around the stand. I then turned and ran away fearing that the player was still close and may have seen me on my way there. So this got me to thinking. How long does it take for zombies to despawn? Alive and dead ones? IS the despawn time the same for players too?
