Character reset, went to an earlier one

Date/Time: 16.07.2012

What happened: I logged out with a character and turned into a fresh spawn at the coast. At some point after playing with the fresh spawn, I revert to old character.

What you were doing:

First time I started the character I spawned to Solnichniy and found a Makarov and Lee-Enfield in a house. Emboldened and happy about the success of finding two weapons in such a rapid succession, I decided to log out of the server (DE72) to one where my friend was playing (DE88). To my rage, I found that I spawned fresh to the coast and I would have to fire up a new character. I tried joining another server (DE1**), but my character remained at coast. Disappointed by the turn of events, I accepted my fate and started playing on the new character on the coast. I tapped out twice to get to Cherno, and started gearing up (M1911, hatchet, food, drinks). At some point I also hunted a player with a hatchet and shouted slurs at him, he also shouted at me that he would find a weapon and put a bullet in my brains, but I think it's unrelated. At some point, I came across a big group of players at cherno supermarket in a firefight, one of them carrying a M14. I manage to kill 3 of them, including the one with M14 (+ a ready hunting kit) and succesfully get away with my prize. I started hoarding ammo for the thing, eventually finding some near Balota airstrip and Kamenka deer stands. Once we're at the deer stands with my friend, I decide to take a smoking break, logging out by aborting. Once I get back to game, I find to my ultimate horror that I've spawned in the older character with Lee-Enfield and Makarov. I tried logging off again and back in, but I keep spawning to the older character.

I'd also like to take my time to thank DayZ staff for creating a great mod. I understand it's Alpha and there are shortcomings what comes to playing an Alpha version. While I am pissed off about the loss, the only reason I care is because it's such a great experience. I hope there's a fix for this, and even if there is not, I hope nobody else have to go through this.
