Chrisbes 0 Posted July 16, 2012 I think that there should be more infections. Being a survival game, "simple" infections would make more sense such as:Water bound infections - Drinking from ponds and poolsFood bound infections - Improperly cooked foods or out of date beansWound based infections - Along with the current infection, wounds can still get infected with other bacteria.Salmonellosis - Drinking water contaminated with the bacteria. More common as a food borne illness.Symptoms include diarrhea, fever, vomiting, and abdominal crampsVibrio Illness - Can enter wounds from contaminated water. Also got by drinking contaminated water or eating undercooked oysters.Symptoms include explosive, watery diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, and occasionally fever.E. coli Infection - Drinking water contaminated with the bacteriaMostly diarrhea. Can cause death in immunocompromised individuals, the very young, and the elderly due to dehydration from prolonged illness. That's just a few examples. The chances of actually getting these will be very low. But could cause issues such as the character needing water and food more often.
Zera_Grey 28 Posted July 16, 2012 yes, in survival the environment is just as much a threat as the enemy your fighting
ExoMax 4 Posted July 16, 2012 I like the idea. Drinking from pools of water could potentially make you sick, a can of soda being the safe alternative.
