Joined a server and "died" but not really

Date/Time: 2:30~ Eastern Standard Time

What happened: I joined a server and "died" as in, I lost my gear and got sent to debug.. but kept my stats

Where you were: Just outside of blunt rocks, roughly half way to Berezino

What you were doing: Logging into a server

Current installed version: v1.7.2.3

Servers you were on: DE 304

My friend and I had been planning to check on our camp and I volunteered to log in and check things out... when I logged in I got a "You must way before you can play" and it brought up the scoreboard like when you press tab. Shortly after I "died" and got sent off to debug where there were a bunch of other survivors standing around. My debug monitor still showed my stats correctly, but my gear was all gone and the slots were unusable. I'm not really sure what the hell happened and frankly it sort of pisses me off.. is there any way to get all the gear I had back?

I'm not sure if this is even the right place to post but I'm frankly pretty upset because I "died" for no reason at all and I had really good gear.
