Mini Lag or Freezes / CPU Load / New Occurance

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody,

been playing since may without that problem. Running fine before.

Since friday 13th i have mini lag issues.

Not sure if it's patch-related because the day 1.7.2.1 => x.x.x.3 were introduced,

i did a fresh installation of arma2 & OA via Steam.

It's playable, but annoying.

System:

  • CPU Phenom ii x6 clocked to 3400 MHz
  • tried 2 different sets of RAM 1333 MHz
  • 560 ti - nvidia 301.41 and later beta 304.79 beta
  • Windows 7

Lag occurs when load is switching cores.

You can see the spike on core 1 and 5 - that manifests ingame as a freeze lasting about 1-5 sec.

Is this what http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma2:_Startup_Parameters refers to as overhead?

Tested without DayZ Mod for roughly 50 minutes of Chernarus: Superpowers, Armory and could not reproduce it there.

  • Parameters tested each one at a time and combined:
  • -no parameters after fresh install
  • -cpucount=6 ( would like to know if thats right in the first place)
  • -exthreads=7 (same here: not sure if this setting is correct)
  • -maxmem=2047
  • -Also had it running with cpucount=2 for a while

Also tried setting affinity of the application to single cores, as well as 2 / 3 / 4 / 6.

Game started via SixUpdater / Launcher and also with _runA2CO_beta.cmd

Steam Arma Version beta (?) 1.6.1. 94876 and 94945

DayZ Version 1.7.2.3

Anyone experience the same?

Any suggestions or advice on parameters?

Anything missing in can provide?

Do i fail at configuring any essential feature of BIOS / CPU options so shit keeps jumping from core to core?

Same thing, man.

After 1-1,5-2 hours of playing my FPS goes down from 30-40 to 5. And it's not even about hot processor, because I tried to chill it. The only way to defeat the problem right now - is to reboot the system after freezes start. The problem is that's not only in DayZ - that 'thing' that breaks ours games in beta patch affects Single game too.

In the times of 1.7.1.5 I could play for hours without such a problem.

Would be grateful for help...I just cannot reboot my system in the middle of NWA with no chance to sharpshoot.

I cant exactly say what fixed it. But the problem is solved.

Drive: Switched to SSD

OS: Fresh installation of Win7 64 bit

Drivers : completely updated BIOS, Chipset Drivers, etc.

Game: DL+Installed via Steam

CFG: Using a backup from the drive it was running on before.

-cpucunt=2 -exthreads=7

gonna test it with -count=6 for a while.
