Anti-Aborting Suggestion.

We all know the most irritating/non-realistic exploit there is, right now, is Aborting.

-When you abort, you disappear from the game, maintaining your last saved status.

-When you log back in, you clear the area off zombies, also you can log back in on another server.

This can be exploited when you are in PvP. Since server admins are no longer allowed to ban for D/C while PvPing, here's what I suggest:

"If you ABORT WHILE BLEEDING, under any circustances, be it due to infected or to getting shot, you DIE on next login."

This would pretty much end these problems, as people wouldn't be able to abort to clear off the zombies, and so, bandage himself, and would avoid PvP DCing because the purpose of aborting is to survive, and if you automatically DIE after aborting while bleeding, you might as well stay online and try and survive the battle.

As for players who timed out, I think the current delay on removing the character is long enough, thus this feature would not envolve timed-out disconnects.

That's only if you're bleeding. I've seen many people D/C the minute they see another player or a herd of zombies.

2 min log out timer u have to get some where safe "for the night" before u can log out

So I think it would be good if you can't disconnect while Zombies/Players within range of 100 Meters from you

I don't know if that would work tho because it would need a warning sign of Zombies in Range, and that would include to meta-gaming and would ruin Stealth Kills

I can still log out while I'm not bleeding? How does that help? I can still just run into a building where the zombies slow down bandage myself and log out.

simular to the log out timer i was saying as in most pvp games if ur involed in any kind of combat u get what is called "battle signs" u can log out till they go if ur under atk u cant leave game till u find a safe place to let the heat die down

I think a better way to do it would be the standard 15-30 second "camp" time to log out, that you see in so many MMOs.. If you Alt+f4 to get out quick, it begins that countdown.. This ensures that a) You can't just run away from a firefight, b ) people aren't using this an exploit to aggro 20+ infected, and log out to clear the entire area, making it safe to log in, and C) you put a sense of fear into the player because they know that there is a real chance that they can die.

It needs to be dealt with but not like this. I still support the timer idea for the time being.

thats a good idea i agree with that but 15-30 secs should be streached to 1 -2 mins that also solves server hoping aswell 2 mins wait to log out find a new server log in move then wait 2 mins to log out then go bck to ther other server only to find that the ppl they was chasing has left the area

I hope you are aware that you responded to a ~6 month old thread right?

Either way, if you are in such a predicament that you can't stay in the game because your parents/wife/husband/kids/dog/friends/toilet/whatever keeps you unable to play for more than 2 minutes at a time you have other issues than dying in the game. In short, you may as well not have a PC to play on to begin with if you can't find a stretch of time for yourself.

I have seen how players run with a horde of 20 zombies behind him only to hit abort and reconnect to have the zombies despawn.

I have seen how players who hear gunshots just abort and wait 5 minutes before coming back into the game.

I have seen how they abuse the log in/out mechanics to know where they are at any given time on the map. (The text at the bottom right of the screen, that should go separately though)

The 15 second combat timer we have now is too short, if someone knocks you unconscious to kill you later or rob you/whatever you still have a high chance to survive if you abort right there and then as most maneuvers take more than 15 seconds if the shooter lost sight on you when you where knocked out.

If it where up to me (which maybe thankfully it isn't) your character would stay in game sleeping whenever you log off and if you wanted to switch servers you would have to wait 2-5 minutes before being able to do so.

What about people who actually HAVE NO BANDAGES and log out whilst bleeding ? When they log back in they DIE ?
