Once I download ARMA 2, are there any

So i'm purchasing ARMA 2 CO off steam today because both of them are on sale and an additional 20% off compared to the price in store where I live in Canada. EB Games, which is also like Gamestop is selling I believe just ARMA 2 for $54.99 brand new, compared to the package of $24.99 Which doesn't make any sense at all, unless they didn't write down in the brief description that it contains all of the expansions, which would be more logical.

But anyway once I download the game from Steam, is there anything that I need to update prior to downloading the mirror for the DayZ Mod?

And Once I download DayZ Mod I've seen that there are updates for the Mod. Do I have to manually download all the updates in order of do they update by themselves so I am up to date with everyone else?

I'm just lost of this subject because I haven't really downloaded any patches/upgrades since C&C Zero Hour/ Battlefield 2. Which is a while ago

You only need arma 2 co cause it comes with arma 2 and arma 2 arrow head exp.

You will have to update constantly for dayz which is big problem because the game is worth it.

You might want to update the game itself with the arma 2 beta patches but look around the forum to make sure which patch is everyone is using.

Steam will keep Arma up to date for you, if you look for and download Six updater it will keep the arma 2 beta patch and DayZ up to date for you. SImply point six to the arma 2 and arrowhead .exe's and it will work as a launcher and server browser aswell.

Steam is downloading both games right now. So after the game is done downloading I pretty much got to install them after right. And after thats done Steam should automatically update all the version to v1.6? I read this on the DayZ forums that this is the last Arma II BETA patch, but I don't get why it's called the beta(but if its not important then moving on). So i should download Six-updater and then take both files and put them into the application. I'm not sure how that process is going to work. But i'll give it a try will it update all the recent DayZ updates for me?

Download through steam, launch the game once through steam (for some last minute installation that steam does the first time you run a game), Downlaod Six Updater Suite from the DayZ Downloads page, run that, and you're done.

So Steam should have updated my latest version up to v1.60 right? Because it says on the updated website for the six updater that a prerequisite is the patch to be downloaded but it doesn't mention if for steam users if you need to manually download it?
