Danisimo 0 Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) *Which version of the game did you purchase? STEAM or RETAIL or MIXED:Mixed. Combined Operations.*Are you running an Arma 2 OA beta patch? If so what version?:Latest patch.*Which method are you using to launch the game? I.E Sixupdater/steam/batch file:Sixupdater.*What is the Error/Problem you're having? Please provide screenshots if possible:No error really. When i first started the game on the coast i have 60 fps looking at the ocean, 60 fps looking at the forest and 55-60 looking the the big city near me(assuming it was Cherno. Sorry still total noob.) Yesterday i was waiting in one spot so that i could meet up with a friend and was watching my fps as i waited for him. After some time i startet getting 52-57 fps looking at Cherno and 58-60 at everything else. As time passed the framerated droped cuntinuously until i finally found myself running around the forest with my friend at 20ish down from 60. From what it looks like i lose roughly 10 fps every 30 minutes. It's gotten to as low as 12 fps no matter where i am/what i see.It feels like a memory leak. I've had similar problems with DAO. They had an issue with AMD processors but the solution was simple. Run the game on 1 or 2 cores max. I don't think this game can be ran on only 1 or two cores.Oh and graphics settings are set to default high i tried to lower them to very low with almost no impact on the frame rate. Maybe like 1,2 fps gain at most.*Your PC specs:AMD Phenom™ II X4 B50 Processor 4 cores x 3.2ghz.4 gygs of ram.GTX 460 1024mb vram*Your Operating System:Win 7 64 bit. JamesButlin 108 Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) I get exactly the same with AMD Phenom II X4, Using HIS Radeon HD6870 1GB card.. I have no problems whatsoever running Battlefield 3 on high/ultra, yet turning the settings to the lowest on DayZ has no impact on this terrible, terrible framerate.. Something must be wrong. I'm thinking maybe the quad core processor might be struggling? People were getting similar issues on Diablo III because the game couldn't handle all four, the solution was to take make the game only use two cores..EDIT: Just read the end of your post about running on two cores, i'm gonna give it a try, you had any luck with this? Danisimo 0 Posted July 16, 2012 I haven't tried because when i try to change the affinity of armaoa in the processes it gives me an access denied error.
Davo{RS} 2 Posted July 17, 2012 Hi, I had a weird fps drop issue caused by dust in my PC causing the motherboard to overheat. Using an air-duster fixed it.See my post here:http://dayzmod.com/f...ag-spikes-help/
RTribesman 28 Posted July 17, 2012 Which gfx drivers you using?Lots on new drivers being released by nvidia. I know its a no brainer but it might be worth updating.Aside from that try finding a new controller driver for your cpu.Seems to be a pretty rare bug but if its happening on the same processor range for everyone then could be a hardware or driver issue. Danisimo 0 Posted July 18, 2012 Well I haven't updated my GFX drivers since Diablo 3 came out but i will right not. Will get the latest beta ones. I didn't think gfx drivers would be a problem because arma isn't a very new game.
