tank77 11 Posted July 16, 2012 Many people are having more than one person playing on one account. It would be nice if we could have multiple characters on one account.
Hendrix27 54 Posted July 16, 2012 I can already see how this can be abused. Basically just giving people storage units for their stuff that people can't touch.

Just make it so if you drop an item then disconnect, the item despawns.

Maybe characters set by region you play in? *Shrug*
digga_mies 0 Posted July 17, 2012 I would like more character slots, too.But you shouldn't be able to use this as a safe place for loot or anything, just a complete new character, were you can start from the beginning, when your squad of friends currently is not playing.Sometimes it is very hard to find the time when all of your teammates can play. So it would be quite nice, if you had an extra character.
Gruelius 16 Posted July 17, 2012 buy another copy of OA, supports this movement and you get anotehr character. i have a top gear guy for our group missions and a guy that i just dont care so much about dying with to experience the funner side of dayz, teaming up with people, making decisions that you wouldnt risk tier1 loot on e.t.c. Players won't be able to do that if items de-spawned when they logged off.Best solution...let them buy Arma 2 :)
schrecksekunde 9 Posted July 28, 2012 every possibility to have more than one character MUST lead to players having "carry" characters (because why limit it to two ? buy 10 copies and create a safe carrier all 200 meters so you can equip yourself right after spawning !) and this will ruin the game faster than everything else....i saw (mainly) DocTolly and some others spread their manual how to do it in every location i could find (there are also guides on youtube, i only wait for the brady guide to be released -_-) and i think it sucks....i also would like to be able to continue with another character while my main one is logged out but be sure that nearly everyone will get to the point where he says "Oh damned, i just died....wait, i´ll log in with my other character" and he´s back at the battlefield, fully equipped, knowing stuff he normally couldnt know (where his killers are hiding for example) and ready to go on...and if that fails he has 3 more around elektro...."damned, i need a sniper rifle...just one minute !" ..."i cant carry those nightgoogles, i already have a pair...oh wait, i am back in a min!"....sure it´s nice to have those "features" but by carrying away stuff he couldnt normally take he takes stuff away from other players....and that is YOU, ME and most of my friends ! or the ammo and food problem...a team with 3 players using this cheat (and that is what it is, it is editing a games information to have an advantage that normally doesnt exist AND is not wanted by the creator of the game) can have 3 "carriers" all around the map, i wonder how long they will continue with the game because it will get _damned_ boring when you dont have to search (and pray) that the next loot spot has what you need......imho the character should be bound to the mac address of the network card, thats not a 100% protection but at least makes it harder for them to cheat. the game got easier int he last 5 weeks i am playing it so why take away the last parts that are challenging ??? the most fun part is in my oppinion the "getting started", "running away" and then the "where the hell am i ???"...maybe WarZ has the multiple character option and they can find their luck there (maybe they also can change the color of the baseball caps *lol*), i dont want this game to be ruined just for those people that are complaining "i am to lazy etc etc" (check the threads, just this part explained most of their way of thinking to me o_o)cheers and may the game be challenging !schreck
necroslord 73 Posted July 28, 2012 I will cast my vote on NO.I don't feel like this game s a kind of game that really benefits of "character slots". I find that have one persistent character keeps the most immersion. That feature is more for RPG games where leveling up takes time and effort and characters can be different between them to justify keeping several. The reason given of "Multiple people on one account" is somethng understandable but that is something that isn't supposed to happen on the first place. I don't think they should offer multi-user account support at the expense of reducing the immersion impact on single-user accounts.
