Private Server? DayZ Server? Question !!

Hey ;) Uhm.. There are DayZ server aswell as there is Private Server. If you want a server that is a DayZ .. Then you are hosting the server from your computer or does they do it? Do you pay them something or ???

I would like to kinda charge over a server. Another way to say it is to be a admin on a server, but i don't want it to be a private server.

Just two question

1. How does it work? How i can be a admin on a DayZ server, do i apply for something or how?

2. If i would like to host a private server, how do i do it? I know how to open ports and such but where is those download to make it work? Anyone got a link? <3

Private servers are not allowed full stop. You cant run a Dayz server on your home PC, It requires a huge amount of bandwidth. Locked servers are not allowed either due to the rules, and minimum slots is 30 (40 in bandwidth cheap counties)

Check the server FAQ Thread, it tells you in there how to apply for a server, But it will also ask you for your dedicated server specs, as well as bandwidth options.

Also note that servers that are seen to be being private, or locked 24/7 are blacklisted

I frequently see private servers that are locked from the public in NZ and Aus and I doubt they are being blacklisted since I see them so regularly.

Report them to the Server general channel, I believe there is a thread there for it. At the moment the DayZ team are working more on the mod than rouge servers. But it will happen eventually.

they marked with (NO-CDKEY,SAVE VECH) ect in their name is the "pirate server"
