When to be a Bandit.

Recommended Posts

Well one day I was playing some DayZ (As I do most days) and I had just spawned in right near Cherno I think (Was about a week ago). But anyway, I walked into the fire station just trying to get a weapon and get out and found a Colt 1911. So not being completely satisfied with my backpack I headed over to the Food Store for a bag. Well I walked in and there was a guy with a Colt also. I walked in and said "Hey buddy!" and he didn't respond and walked out. Well later I asked if he wanted to meet up and we did. I asked why he didn't shoot on sight and he responded with "Well I took a chance and now I think we are cool enough to stick together."

So the whole reason behind that story is that you CAN trust some people and you DON'T need to always shoot on sight. Now that neither of us shot that day, we have been playing for about a week and we also came across someone that was just starting off (This was after finding and M21, AS-50, M-14 and too much ammo to count, and shooting people who were sniping over Elektro. We were trying to give newcomers a little bit of a break.) So anyway, we found another person and he happened to be looking for a group to play with and he also had two other friends. Now we are a large group, soon to be about 8 strong and we are 'Friendly Bandits.' The only time we kill is when we see suspicious activity and if we are shot at first. We will sometimes terrorize the NW airfield out of boredom, but that isn't that often.

MAIN POINT HERE! IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ THE WHOLE THING.

-You don't have to be a Bandit ALL the time; you can be friendly to people with less equipment than you and maybe it will pay off. There are too many bandits as is and maybe you will take being a 'Friendly Bandit' into consideration and not be an ass-hat to everyone.

Hope you like this little piece of my Bandit time and maybe we can all be a little more friendly.

:)

Imagine if you or him would have been carrying DMR or M107, I bet it would have been a whole different story.

You mean in the store? Oh most definately, I would have shot him or hid behind something and seen if he was cool and if not, one of us wouldn't have left there haha

Now this is respectable, Kudos...

You know, the funny part is that i've almost never come across any strangers. I think... 2 times people have seen me. and on 4 occasions I've heard/seen people without them knowing. Weird, considering I hang by the big boy cities pretty often. Ah well, I'm sure that'll change one day, hopefully for the better without me jumping out of my chair and my heart exploding out of my chest.

Don't worry I almost had a stroke the one time. Me and my two friends were checking a deer stand when someone with an AKM tore up the stand. I managed to get away from the stand alright and we ran away into the woods a bit. Then my one friend (The one from the store) whipped up his DMR and saw someone and popped them with one in the chest and one in the head. Later to find out that if wasn't the guy with the AKM but a nooby with a Crossbow and a .45. Sad really. Guess he is just in the wrong place at the wrong time. :(

Why because I don't approve of killing someone without a purpose? I sometimes just farm kills for food, ammo, water, tools, etc. but not too often. We spend most of our time looting large places and we have found multiple vehicles and have fixed them all except the ATV...that is tomorrows mission! :P

@MikeM27: No, because when you have piles of guns and no food or water, What are you gonna do? I haven't been forced to it yet because looting cities doesn't really bore me. But if i'm in a bad way, i'm gonna whisper to myself 'sorry' and rob you... ( 'you' meaning any unlucky sod that has food that I would need.)

I kill people for gear if i'm blinking food or thirst in the middle of nowhere, but other than that i keep my guns silent since i prefer not alerting every player in Cherno i'm there.

Occasionally i get bored and act as Anti-bandit, avenging newbs who were killed (Today i heard revolver in Cherno then flies and hit the offender with a few M1014 slugs)

Hot zone's like NW and Stary bandit mode engaged but otherwise i leave people alone.

Edit: Unless i get shot at or see a charging hatcheteer.

Well funny story about the Hatchet charging people. Well me and my friend were searching the Balota Airfield for some junk when a wild Hatchet guy appears and hits me in the side of the head! Luckily I acted quick and shot him in the knees with a Colt. Then I stood up moved back a little and he still came after me so I put two extra mags in him and blew him to pieces. Also I had three blood bags on me for my friend to give me a transfusion in a situation like this. I was also shot by an M14/DMR by Stary and lived. Ended up killing the two clan members that did it. One we sniped from 900yds away with a DMR and the second I ran up on with my trusty M14 AIM and shot him in the chest and head. And of couse the stupid annoyance Alt+F4d before he died because he was a wimp. >:(
