Most stupid question ever: How to chat

Hi guys! Just bought ArmA 2:CO to play this mod, so i´m total noob when it comes to this game. I´ve just joined a server, and realized i need to speek to people. But i just cant figure how to type in the chat? :D

I looked in the options, but i cant find any key that seems to do what i want...

Also i got one more question. Is the screen supposed to flash like you have been blinded by a flash granade when you´re low on food?

By default the key is the / Key to type. Capslock is VOIP but I don't recommend it.

There are other chat channels that are available that you can switch with the < and > key, the only ones I recommend are Side Chat/Channel and Direct Comm (which is broken at the moment.)
