Unplayable!

Recommended Posts

So, I downloaded the mod, following all instructions. For the first 2-3 minutes of gameplay, it ran perfectly. For one second, it runs fine. Then there's a huge lag spike. Then it runs fine for another second, etc. I set all my video options to the lowest they can go. Is there any way I can increase performance?

Well is your computer on "High performance" Not "recommended" recommended will not have gaming specs in mind, it will use more energy so keep it hooked up to a plug in ^^

Also there was something else you could do, and I did it, but I don't remember how I did it.

Basically I put the desktop animations and such at an old looking standard. Reducing RAM usage... >.> gah I wish I could remember.

Idk, I've played games before that have much higher prerequisites than this game, and they run perfectly, which is why I'm really not sure what to do.

Arma 2 honestly has less lag then DayZ, and Rocket is working on this, and has made steps forward such as reducing fps by animals and zeds. It will even out eventually, I hope. I honestly don't lag, but for the people that do.

That^

A buddy of mine runs Arma 2 perfectly, when he hops on DayZ, it is nearly unplayable. I hope this is fixed.

sometimes the server makes you drop FPS aswell, might sound weird but its true and possible, happened to 10 of us today, everyone went down to like 10 fps in the exact same moment, the server didnt lag at all, except the FPS suddenly dropping, and then 10-15 minutes later everyone had high fps again, it changed for everyone at the same time

Same problem here. Just find a server that doesn't have the hue spike, and stick with it. Currently I'm playing on a UK server based in France...(??). My computer isn't amazing by anyones standards, but it runs pretty nice until I get to a big town. Just find a decent server, and stick with it.

How does ARMA 2 run?

Make sure you're not running any nonessential programs.

Lower your graphics settings.

Make sure you have the up to date drivers, manual install from manufacturers website.

Try different servers?

I've narrowed it down to what seems to be the problem. When battleye client says "Up to date", it also says: Server Computed GUID 327bac02a9b4f14b28d67***a0c7b28

I'm not sure what it means, but as soon as that shows up I start getting the problem. Anyone help?

You could maybe do "Ctrl / Alt / Delete" and go to the "Processes" section, than find the game that's running and right click it. Scroll down to "Priority" and change it to, "High". Depends on the computer but if you do "Realtime" it can cause problems I've been told. Even "High" can maybe, but I don't think high will do anything bad. =P

Tried it, I don't think it's a problem with my computer, it's this:

Server Computed GUID 327bac02a9b4f14b28d67***a0c7b28

Are you sure it's Lag-spikes? because that sounds network related. although some says the server makes the fps drop. Have you opened the arma2 ports in your router?

Application: ARMAII External port: 2302 Internal port: 2302 Protocol: UDP

Application: ARMAII1 External port: 2303 Internal port: 2303 Protocol: UDP

Application: ARMAII2 External port: 2305 Internal port: 2305 Protocol: UDP

I don't think it's lag spikes. It'll work perfectly for ~1-2 minutes, then it will come up and say Server computed GUID: (bunch of numbers/letters), then it will start having the problem.

Just opened up the ports, gonna try.
