Some questions about guns and ammo

1. how many backpack slots does a primary weapon take up? or does it depend on the type of weapon?

2. how about a sidearm?

3. how do people find so much ammo for a gun found on a helicopter like an m16? because i found a m16 and i havnt gotten any new ammo for it.. ak ammo seems to be rare also.. but grenade launcher ammo is so common..
