The hardest thing....

Recommended Posts

Is to find a decent server in which I can connect to, once I've found a server which I can actually join and play I am experiencing lag (which is not due to my connect as my ms is always low) I also get the message 'not received a message for X seconds' I'm not sure if there is away to fix this or it's just the latest build. Is it better to revert to the previous build instead of the latest?

Sorry about moaning just I brought this game yesterday and haven't managed to have a decent game yet....

There was an update a couple of night ago that initially caused some probs but it should be ok now. Are you connecting to servers in you region?

Make sure you're clicking on the ping tab when looking at the server list. You should have to do it twice to filter the lowest pings to the top. Keep searching.

The 'not received a message for X seconds' message has to do with the server going down. There isn't much you can do about that.

Thank you for your help I have managed to sort it (for now) and enjoyed my first proper game! I must say this game is really fun and scary! I've got a gun (3 bullets :/) and a tent so I am sorted for DayZ (see what I done there) :P

It's the server. I routinely connect from the US to servers in France (due to my being limited to playing at night) and I have zero problems. In fact, my ping in-game is always better than what shows on the server screen. I even connect to some servers showing 2500 in red, but once I connect it's just fine. Ping isn't nearly as important in this game as it is in faster paced games. Sub 300 pings are completely playable so don't let ping be too much of a determining factor.
