DaBilderberg 3 Posted July 15, 2012 This may have been suggested before, but wouldn't it be a good idea to have the steel bolts become part of the inventory of the dead target. Right now, I need to run over, go into first person, and retrieve my bolt by precisely aiming at the 1 millimeter thick stick. Unfortunately, this becomes quite the hassle, especially when you kill a zombie on a hill. In many instances I kill a zombie on a hill, go to retrieve my bolt, and find out that the bolt is lost somewhere in the body/hill. To solve this, make the bolt attach itself to the inventory of the corpse. Thoughts?
astriantis@hotmail.com 25 Posted July 15, 2012 Yeah, I agree, crossbow is a neat weapon, but keeping track of lost bolts is sometimes hard and wastes time.

dutchguy 0 Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) Good, but on the whole topic of every shot being recoverable is bad, because as it happens in real life some times the bolts get broken when they hit the target and splinter. Ive never seen a Steel bolt splinter by hitting its target. If the bolt would be wood, carbonfibre, plastic, etc then it could splinter in/on the target Edited July 15, 2012 by Dutchguy
L0G!N (DayZ) 149 Posted July 15, 2012 So they bend :P making them useless?I agree with this, and i didn't even know you could retrieve them, i tried to though, assuming they would indeed 'attach' themself to the loot list of the dead body. when they didn't i just assumed i lost the bold, and after two shots i just threw the crossbow away :o ... so all for this
Ticow 0 Posted July 22, 2012 yeah the steel bolt should really attach itself as gear to the target on a successful hit...
Dimes123 60 Posted July 22, 2012 if we can lose the bolts with this idea, then i should be able to craft them with scrap steel and a toolkit.
