As DayZ's popularity continues to grow, so do the Hackers.

Lots of popular Twitch TV and Own3D streamers are giving DayZ a try, but unfortunately do not know enough about trying to protect their identity. Stream sniping will always been an issue, but the Hackers are having a field day with these guys. Check out the DayZ channels on either service, and you'll see what I mean,

Some of it is pretty funny, but some is sad too. Would be interesting to see some of the developers reaction to this. As far as I know, I've only seen Vipeaxe in the more established streams like Puddn.

ye, i just saw the stream of "kungen", a decently known d3-dude playing day z the first time.

some hacker just joined him everywhere, spawned everything and killed everything, etc.. leading kungen to get bored pretty fast.

he also said he found him by his battleye-id.

eh. the most common way to hack us using the hex editor and having fun with custom scripts. problem is battleye detects it and you are banned in like 5 days. so... 10$ for 5 days of insane trolling is honestly worth it. one of my friends gone through 6 accounts. i personally play legit on rockets battleye protected servers, but the servers that defy rocket... the "rouge" non battleye servers.... hehe well. i make the admins life hell. but ONLY on rouge servers. so also keep in mind arma engine is made to spawn stuff... when you pick your class on the loadout then it spawns you with it. so theres no real way to stop haxorz atm other than report them to the server admin and report them here on the forums. but yeah they can buy a new account so... meh -_-

Was indeed really sad too see how Kungen got bored really quick of the game due to the hacker that followed him around everytime he went on a new server. And now everytime he will play it / streaming they will keep follow him around to troll.... Just very sad that DayZ will die due to the hackers soon.

he can hide his ID... go into the main menu change his name and bingo. just needs to cover up the debug console never hit and cover the inventory bit where it has your name on top. ezpz i see guys with 3x the viewers that kungen does (destiny,jpmcdaniel and more) all together with like 15k viewers trolling around with no problems because they just cover their shit up. streams gotta take responsibility with that. i stream myself and i always have to hide my stuff because i get ddosed all the time. =/

Yeah I hear you, but these guys are trying out the game for the first time, and are being overwhelmed by the inventory alone. For them to realize how to protect their identity as you mentioned is going to take some time. They need to get familiar with the UI first, However, by the time that happens, they'll be long bored of it as the hackers ruin the experience (like Kungen)

well kungen was probally pressured into dayz by fans etc. most streams bear with it. diablo 3 is bad itself. kungens getting hacked ALL the time. so i think he really just dosnt care for the game due to its relatively short but hardcore learning curve. -_-

Hacking is forever a fight in gaming, you guys have to realise that good games have to constantly fight hacking certain people get thrills out of hacking but yet people who hack are only there to not have fun but to ruin other peoples fun. Its not somethin that can be taken care of tommorow. Dont think >>

yeah i hack usually to help kids. riding a chinook or huey along the coast picking them up and just teaching them all the things abt the game over direct voice chat. when hackers kill me i unloose hell [ tungustas with A.i's driving around searching for 1 player id only. will only kill him XD and eventually bombing him with the a-10] but i hack for good. i give them guns food maps backpacks and everything they will need. a sick care kit basically.

but sadly i wont get banned on battleye because im too lazy to buy another key so i only hack on rouge servers... i had fun last night spawning in battleships in electro anc cherno... the admin was so confused XD

That's a good point and I did not think of it in that respect. I'm sure by being somewhat popular he's going to get the attention of hackers, regardless of what he plays. I just want DayZ to do well, and it sucks to have its image tarnished in this way. The streamers that have taken the steps you've mentioned will continue to play, like Destiny - so at least we have that.

there are several people out there that are post or beyond the mentality of seeing every game as a competition. people that read books, are interested in art and whatnot.

I've been lucky and only encountered one hacker. I killed a guy who must've been either the hacker or a hacker's friend, because as I ran towards the corpse someone appeared in front of me out of thin air and killed me.
