You end up dedicating hardware to said person which locks it and takes up available slots you have to rent to other people, then theres the eletricity bill and the bandwidth bill, along with support, set up, maintenance of the renters site and features to manage the servers.I have my own racks at a datacenter that i rent out game hosting on, and even my personal "stash" which isnt even big, wrecks up a 9000$ eletricity bill over 6 months. You need harddrive storage for files. You need processors for data processing. All of this this cost money to buy and maintain, this is what you pay for. Rocket created the game files, these files are shared for free. Server providers provide the hardware to run a server. Server providers earn money by renting their servers to people. I mean, its possible if he struck some deal with hosting companies, but I highly doubt that.People pay whoever they are renting the servers from. Rocket isnt seeing money from that.
