Lag problems, tried everything.

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

Let me start of with saying that I bought ARMA II Combined Operations just for the DayZ mod. I'm just really fond of zombie games and I liked the concept of this game.

Okay here we go. I've literally tried everything to be able to play this game without lag. Followed a lot of tutorials which can be found here on the forum. I've got the STEAM version.

So I tried manual AND six updater installation. I alternated the start up parameters and tried different in-game configurations graphics-wise. Everything should be Up-to-date right now.

At this moment i'm going with the six-updater way. But my fps is mostly stuck at 15 frames per second with some peaks at 30. But mostly 15. Used fraps to see this.

My configuration is;

AMD Phenox x4 955 (I think)

Amd HD 5870 (I know it's not top of the line)

8 GB of ram

Generic 7200 rpm 1 TB harddrive.

Now I KNOW I should be able to run this game at medium settings at at least 25 fps but the fact of the matter is.....it doesn't matter which settings I use I always get the same FPS.

CPU always uses around 50-60 %.

I'm at the end of my rope here and getting pretty pissed off. I know it's an Alpha version but...Dude.

Thanks in advance for ANY possible solution.

Greatings from Holland.

Your specs are fine. Try the suggestion above.

Allright have been trying and browsing around with regard to the above mentioned method but that didn't do much for me,sadly. So I guess I must be doing something really wrong. Could someone please tell me if this is a correct path for the shortcut I created with six updater in order to utilize RAMdisk ;"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -noSplash -noFilePatching -world=empty "-mod=c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2;expansion;expansion\beta;expansion\beta\expansion;H:\@DayZ"

H = the virtual harddrive.

I copied the map from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\@DayZ. That IS correct right ?

So help me out guys, did I miss something ?

Allright, one fresh install further I managed to get 25-30 fps. Also, and this may sounds stupid, my system was set to energy saving -.-"
