terraknight 11 Posted July 15, 2012 This is something I thought about while me and my friends took in some vehicles to our base:1. Making vehicles "hideable" under camo blankets/nets that would atleast add some sort of cover for them. Currently you can drive them into the pinetrees, sure, but that doesn't quite help with a big bus, Ural or any other "shiny" vehicle in the game2. Paint. Adding paint for vehicles, like busses, Urals, off-road and other ones as well. this goes together with the above, but atleast it would make it possible for people to make it harder for others to see said vehicle. ofc, green and camo would probably be the rarest and hardest to find.3. Keys & lockpicks. Would be an interesting addition to the game. If you find a vehicle ingame spawned, they ought to have keys in them since you're driving them (ofc, could be wired as well...) and as you exit the car, you could have the option to lock/unlock it so that other people would need to lockpick (say 10-20sec to get it unlocked) it before being able to get the "spare" keys inside and drive off with them.Lockpicks would, in that case, be about as rare as the toolbox, to make it a sought for item.Ofc, another way would be the need to have lockpick before you at all could get inside the vehicle. This would make lockpicks even more sought for items, and not all the vehicles would be hoarded as fast as they currently are.4. Just came to think of it, but lockpicks could be used for locked buildings as well (who would leave a door unlocked in the zombie mayhem, if you are holing up in it?)just thought that it would add some more realism into the game
Doctor_sloth 119 Posted July 15, 2012 Sounds pretty interesting, but all this would lead to, I believe, would be players simply shooting the tires out or blowing said vehicle up. Not that it makes a difference, since they were going to steal it first anyway, but that's just my thoughts on it.
terraknight 11 Posted July 15, 2012 true, true, but on the other hand, that could also make it so that you wouldn't be able to loot the car either, meaning you'd be blowing up a load of stuff. Ofc, still, if you think like "if we can't have it, noone can!" then it will be that way. I generally love vehicles in the game now, since our clan started acquiering a few, and wish we could hide our babies better =P
Ultenth 12 Posted July 15, 2012 I support this idea, I think that keys and lockpicks would be a very interesting addition. But, with a crowbar I should still be able to pry open a trunk or smash out a window, but if I wanted to use the vehicle myself after it would need to be repaired of course. Being able to hide it under cover would be cool, but you would have to go collect lots of wood piles or something of that nature in order to do so, which should take quite some time to properly hide the vehicle. A giant lump of wood will still stand out quite a bit though if seen from the ground, since there aren't really any proper large bushes, only trees.
terraknight 11 Posted July 16, 2012 yeah, I was thinking pine-tree branches that you could rip from the trees and use for cover. Would be awesome close to pine-trees atleast
